Liberal MP Martin Won't Back the HST Bill

I think it's safe to say you can take that one to the bank. On his Facebook page, Martin states:

Keith Martin i will not be voting for the HST There is a third way that i developed pl see our website www.keithmartin.org

Hell, if Easter can vote in favour of getting rid of the Gun Registry, then surely Martin can vote against a bill that 75% of the population have said they don't want. But hey, what do I know.

I'll say this about our caucus in Ottawa. Under Iggy's leadership, freedom of expression and the ability to vote your conscience has flourished. Case in point, our Newfie MPs, Martin, Easter and every other MP that voted to gut the gun registry, and several others I am probably unaware of.

Not sure if this is entirely a good thing or bad thing at this point.

I really like Martin but Ignatieff has made the call. And that settles the matter! He definitely shouldn't be kicked out of the caucus if he ends up being disloyal, he's valuable to have in the party. But he also would definitely need to be disciplined. But I suspect that Ignatieff will meet with him and convince him of the right way.

Convince him of the right way?

You definitely don't know Keith Martin.

Hey, it's even now. Apparently, Dona Cadman will vote against the HST and possibly Larry Miller.

Yes, but what do I know about popular opinion and how people vote Sandi?

If these MPs from BC want to keep their seat in a possible 2010 fall election, they know how they have to vote. I think they have better advisors than certain entire political parties.
