14 Years for Perjury?

Anyone else think that's a little harsh for hockey Hall of Famer Guy the Flower???

From what I've read, that's just the maximum sentence that the crime carries, the Crown is not even asking for it.

Fish is right. There's no way in hell a trial judge would impose that sort of sentence in this case. If he/she did, an appellate court would intervene. In these circumstances I'm not sure any custodial sentence would be appropriate.

The Crown seems to think 2-years would be the upper limit in these circumstances but she's only seeking a few months served in house arrest. His lawyer says a fine would be appropriate.

I wouldn't want to be the Quebec judge who sent la Fleur for an extended stay in the Greybar Hotel.
