Last year Gary Lunn fired Linda Keen. Her crime? She shut down a faulty nuclear facility for safety reasons. She warned Canadians about this a year ago - almost to the day.
On December 6, 2008, the new minister in charge, Lisa Raitt, was notified in an email exchange about the nuclear leak in Chalk River on December 5, 2008. Did anyone tell the Canadian public about it then? NO! Why? Because they wanted to avoid the controversy by burying the news on a budget day when nobody would be paying attention. That's why.
Sun Media didn't fall for the trap though and have published a report today. Notice the line:
Raitt said she and her departmental officials received an "e-mail briefing" on the leak the day after it occurred.
"There are some aspects that came out today that we weren't fully aware of," the minister said yesterday
What was the minister doing for two months that a nuclear leak wasn't worth making a priority of?

I don't know, James. For the most secretive, deceitful and duplicitous government in Canadian history, maybe this is full and prompt disclosure.
No public awareness for two months?
James, the guy has had the Canadian Forces and the public service gagged for two years. What do you think the "public awareness" deficit is there?
Linda Keen was right.
What a bunch of clowns.
