Having a 9 and an 11 year old and being a proud Liberal, I thought Dan McTeague's private member's bill was a stroke of genious. Apparently Flaherty doesn't agree.
THE BIG QUESTION IS: WILL THE LIBERALS SUPPORT THEIR OWN MEMBER'S BILL?

I think they will be abstaining for now and then on the 2nd part of the bill (not sure what it's called) they would vote it down and force an election. They are just waiting for by-election to finish and hopefully gain some momentum there. Also by that time it would be spring. So better weather for campaigning and voting. That's my read on the situation. Either that or it's just wishful thinking on my part. :)
Flaherty is really shameless to scream deficit. Well duh! he created that situation. Toronto Star said they intentionally empty the coffer so Liberal won't be able to do anything.
Totally shameless. Then again, we ARE letting him get away with it.
