NO EXCUSES!!! The Update

UPDATE 12 Hours in: People are donating. YOU SHOULD TOO!!!

NO EXCUSES!!!

All of my readers know what my position is in regard to whether or not I think we, the Liberals, should bring down this bloated, phony, corrupt, and ineffective Conservative Government.

If you have read any of my more recent blogs, you will also know that I do not think we should wait to bring them down.

And further, it should be apparent to any of my readers that I have become somewhat critical of MY leader for not shifting this party into campaign mode . . . STAT!!!

There has been a lot written on other bloggers’ sites and in the news that the Conservatives are outpacing the Liberals in gathering donations and that many Liberals, including MY LEADER have not yet retired their campaign debts.

That being said, I want to give MY leader NO EXCUSES for not bringing Stephen Harper and his opaque, secretive, irresponsible, and entirely disrespectful government down at the very next opportunity.

I am therefore proposing that all of my Liberal friends and all of those who read my blog and all of you who support the party go to this link and make whatever donation you can make to help retire Stephane Dion’s campaign debt and leave him with NO EXCUSES for continuing to prop up the Harper Government.

And when you are done making your donation, forward this link to all of your Liberal friends and colleagues.

Donate now and donate often. The only shame involved in this solicitation is my shame in having Stephen Harper remain Prime Minister of this great country any longer than is absolutely necessary.

Press here to help retire the debt.

My friends and I have already begun to donate. Your friends should too!!!

In the words of the immortal Bruce Springsteen: NO RETREAT BABY, NO SURRENDER

I sent a donation to Stephane, not much but as much as I could.

You're not alone.

Sorry James, people just don't want Dion. And until your party actually comes up with policies that they are willing to fight for instead of constantly caving and cowering over HOC votes that WERE at the core of their principles, people will keep the cheque books firmly closed

And now we get to see Dion stumbling around the summer bbq circuit after sitting down over immigration. Who knows, perhaps he might even be able to pay for a plane ticket home at the end of the summer. I'm sure Iggy is happy with all those donations though. ;)

I love when trolls like kai_poodle drop by, heaping scorn on the lowly Liberals. It's great in a sense, the more they point to the Liberals problems, the more it shines a huge light on why can't Harper capitalize? Why is his support lower now than in the last election? Why do voters, when asked, choose "nobody" over Harper for leader? Why do people say "there is something about Stephen Harper I just don't like"? Why, why, why can't these geniuses capitalize, when they have such a putz leading the Liberals? It really is amazing. Actually, if anyone saw how awkward Harper was today, walking with the "people" of the floods, lacking any sense of real empathy, so wooden and geeky, they would have their answer. Yes, we should all fear the Conservative juggernaut.

I honestly believe, with expectations so low, Dion could actually shine next to this guy, not to mention his "team" which presents itself like a collection of misfits and low rent salesman. Why do you think they need a script, message control, pretty slogans, backdrops? There isn't much there, it necessitates an emphasis on presentation, to make up what it lacks. This isn't a dynasty here, this is a guy and his minions who hung around long enough until the Liberals committed suicide, the voters wanted change, throw in a false RCMP probe and bingo- one of the most fragile government's in Canadian history. Boowah.

Well, sure. The Liberals and Dion provide such bang-on reasons to do just that.

It's great in a sense, the more they point to the Liberals problems, the more it shines a huge light on why can't Harper capitalize?

Well, it would take an election to find out if it is true whether Harper could ultimatley capitalize on how how utterly feeble the Liberals are. Too bad Dion doesn't believe in his party and their principles enough to test that. They'd rather just flee at the mere hint of such a thing.

Why is his support lower now than in the last election?

Support has been consistently in the range of margin of error, plus or minus a few points of their 2006election numbers. And obviously, a lot can happen in an election campaign to change that. Harper isn't afraid to find out what that may entail. Dion? Heh.

Why do Dion and the Liberals say this government is so very wrong for Canada, yet time after time allows this government to carry out the very agenda that Liberals claim is so bad for our country? What are Liberals so afraid of that they would compomise closely held principles in order to let this government continue?

Why do voters, when asked, choose "nobody" over Harper for leader? Why do people say "there is something about Stephen Harper I just don't like"?

There will always be people who feel that way about any leader of any party. That is a given. And just how do they feel about Dion, even the people, his own party in his own home province? Um......yeah.

Why, why, why can't these geniuses capitalize, when they have such a putz leading the Liberals?

Sure it would be a great to capitalize. Ultimatley, we'd need an election for that to happen. But that putz you speak of and his Liberals are much too timid to have that happen.

It really is amazing. Actually, if anyone saw how awkward Harper was today, walking with the "people" of the floods, lacking any sense of real empathy, so wooden and geeky, they would have their answer. Yes, we should all fear the Conservative juggernaut.

You have no way of knowing what Harper was thinking or feeling. Who would be comfortable when surveying a disaster area? For chrissakes, don't be such a blithering idiot.

By the way, I'm looking forward to Dion's stellar appearance there.

I honestly believe, with expectations so low, Dion could actually shine next to this guy, not to mention his "team" which presents itself like a collection of misfits and low rent salesman.

I suspect Dion couldn't shine next to night. But AGAIN, we won't know for sure any time soon will we? Dion isn't afraid to face the electorate. He is just fearful to do so in the context of an election (many thanks Rick Mercer).

Why do you think they need a script, message control, pretty slogans, backdrops? There isn't much there, it necessitates an emphasis on presentation, to make up what it lacks.

Speaking about what you perceive the Tories lack, as opposed to a party that has no message, no policies, totally bereft of spine or conviction, and no interest to do the job of Opposition, let alone the Government. They don't stand for anything. In fact, they sit or they run.

As a leader Harper might be wound a little tight. However, so much better that than a spineless milquetoast that can't even interest his own province, stand up for his party's principles, or inspire even his own people.

This isn't a dynasty here, this is a guy and minions who hung around long enough until the Liberals committed suicide, the voters wanted change, throw in a false RCMP probe and bingo- one of the most fragile government's in Canadian history. Boowah.

So fragile that its been governing as if it had a majority. So fragile that it has been carrying out its aims with nary a hint of credible challenge from the so-called "Official Opposition Party". So fragile that it has a great shot of being a minority government that went the distance.

The Liberals are afraid. The fear radiates off them like a stink. They reek of it. They are afraid because they can't win. And without being able to win, they don't have that which they crave most of all - power. Their own supporters know this and they won't open their wallets and pocketbooks to fund a loser that won't give them that. Even the NDP has eclipsed them in fundraising. Even Layton is a more popular leader than Dion. Ouch!

By the way, perhaps the Liberals will serve plenty of chicken on their bbq circuit this summer. Lord knows, they've sure become accustomed to the taste.

Boowah.

Actually puppy, the Conservatives are now stalling the only bill that can be election-granting in committee right now. It appears your precious party is reluctant to bring it back to the house before the summer break June 20. Which Harper plans on moving up to the 6th. That would be the budget implementation bill featuring an immigration bill. And with another election spending scandal at hand for the CONS I can understand why they need a break sooner than later from the HoC.
