This PM Harper guy really is a piece of sh!t

Couldn't he at least drag himself to a game in Canada on the taxpayer's dime?

1. He is paying the commercial equivalent cost to the Government to get him there and back (security does not allow him to fly commercial flights). So "the taxpayer's expense" this time (beyond the commercial equivalent) is imposed on him, not by choice.

2. Getting to Boston from Ottawa is cheaper than getting to Vancouver from Ottawa.

3. Who says he won't go to Game 5 out west, too?

You know, sometimes the desire to dump on someone goes a little too far, and this is one of those times.

Sure.

1. And the cost of the entire security detail to fly there? and ground transportation that is not owned by Canadians as it would be in YVR? etc. etc. etc.

2. See #1

3. There goes another $50k.

You know, sometimes the need to have someone lead by example after posting a "belt tightening" budget a mere 2 days ago is appropriate, and this is one of those times.

Thank you James for saying what I was thinking. Fiscally responsible? What a joke.

What's wrong with watching the game on a large screen TV? Oh, I know, it doesn't provide a good photo op, and we know how much SH loves a good one. He'll fly anywhere on our dime to feed his ego.

I'd be more than happy to put my taxpaying dime down to have Harper fly anywhere in the world outside of Canada, as long as he stayed there.

I'll be curious to see if Harper repays what I generously calculated for an overnight trip from Boston to Ottawa for three passengers ($2351). This assumes booking a month in advance, which the average hockey fan cannot do, given the uncertainty of which teams will get through each round. It also leaves off the cost of the security detail, obviously.

A question: Is $1000/ticket for 7 rows up from the blue line in Boston a believable number?

I am indebted to the PM for not taking up seats in Vancouver last Saturday which, possibly, allowed me to acquire two seats to see, perhaps, the last game Vancouver will actually win this year.

(I hope I'm wrong).
