Blue and red, eh? Hmmm, pretty limited rainbow.
Perhaps they should get orange and green Maple Leafs in there.

Really? Colours? Are we going to make this about whether or not the colours work? We have a house full of hacks and the best we can come up with is: The colours don't work. :-)
It wasn't supposed to be a 'Rainbow Coalition" it was to show we could pull from the traditional left of centre (red) and pull some traditional right of centre (blue) so that we can carry the middle ground always !
What an idiot you want disgruntled PC'ers go see the Progressive Canadian Party c/w Elvis as President.
This could be a very strong catalyst to getting the complete progressive element in Canada under one roof.
The NDP and Liberals won't do it so why not entice the grassroots members from all the parties to move in one direction.
All the old baggage from the other parties are left behind - you get to start fresh build a new team and Platform this could be exciting !
I'm just happy that Jim is ballsy enough to show us something different, without crowing about it or singing praises. I'll make up my own mind, thanks.

It begs the question though... How can they mobilize fast enough to factor in an election?
It seems with what we have now in Ottawa isn't pleasing the electorate.
And it seems over the last few weeks was a buzz in Ottawa about the Libs + NDP joining each other which seemed to get a lot of playtime and then it was killed by the parties themselves and now it seems that there is a great disappointment out there with the people that were interested. If that truly is the case then one would suppose that this new Party wanting to attract from the so-called centre/centre-left parties would be an excellent idea because with out the animosity one would suppose they could get down to work in building their infrastructure - EDA's etc as well as building a very plausible and solid platform by just combining all the good parts of those parties.. It seems to me that if the want is there and the will is there this could be one of the most successful political parties Canada has ever seen. I say I'm ready willing and able are you coming along too ?

Is it about the logo or is about the state of the country? It's interesting that the logo seems more of an issue than what the failures in Ottawa have managed to heap upon us.
I woke up this morning and thought: "Why the hell not!" If C.R.A.P. can get elected and govern, maybe it's time for a true change of, "pace and face."
Ignatieff isn't the guy, Harper and his cronies are boorish louts, Layton just sides with whomever has a tastier cookie,and Duceppe... Well, he's still a separtist. So what's left? The Greens? Ummm.... No. For now, I'm keeping an open mind. I owe it to myself. I think everyone owes it to themselves to have a look. The toughest part for a new cenrist party is going to be recruiting solid and dedicated talent to work behind the scenes.
Thoughts? Anybody? Bueller?
We can no longer sit and watch as this entire parliament continues to show olympian disregard for the human misery being caused by their lack of attention to the needs, wishes and sensibilities of Canadians? What's the answer? Who knows? Is it another party? Maybe. Maybe not. The facts though, are undeniable. Ottawa is sucking the life out of the people. We're exhausted. Sure, they say everything is "Jim Dandy," but the reality is: The farmers I speak to in Alberta are livid at Harper, Layton and Iggy and the Stooges,and they feel as though they can't change a thing. Office workers are stretched to the max as worforces shrink and workloads increase----Don't even think of getting a raise over 1%. Everything is a tax, a fee or a surcharge. The deficit looks like everyone's bank statement and credit card bill... The debt mounts and mounts... I can't relax looking at my own bills, how can I relax knowing that there's a buffoon running our national finances? Now we need objectives like: changing the way Ottawas policies have contributed to the deficit... Why did it get this far?
You know the old saying... "Teach a man to fish..."
If these United Party characters can "teach a Canadian to vote..." They could mean something.
It would send a hell of a message to both the right and left, not to mention what might happen in Quebec...
This might not be a flavour of a month thing. They have to make it stick though... They would have to be rabid about creating a brand and doing it quickly... Tall orders...
Although, I must admit Jim... If a beer company does it, it's not quite the same as a political party doing it... (Good link btw.) Nevertheless, I didn't see how the correlation was relevant, given that the models are completely different.
Would I ever jump ship? It's the 21st century. Everything's disposable, inculing, at times, loyalty. (Just ask Ottawa.)
So to be perfectly honest... I might be done. I'd move if they could prove they had a message.
