Very disappointed.

I don't believe it. Where is Bob ?

Rae had an awful lot of support out here in BC. He came in 1st actually in our liberal leadership poll when you count people who who have voted for him as second choice. To give him nothing when he caved and he is so talented and obviously a person we desperately need to rebuild the party.... is shocking. People are not going to like it. I don't like it.

I suspect Bob did not get the post he should have had, finance, because Michael was afraid he would bring down the government.

All is good for New Democrats like me with the Libs choice for leader.

Um, this is the same shadow cabinet that was named by Dion. It just looks as if Ignatieff's photo and title has replaced Dion's.

Has there been a formal announcement?

Well thank goodness knb. I am really hoping for a mistake. I was feeling a bit shell shocked.

Bob was Foreign Affairs under Dion, but stepped aside for a supposed leadership bid.

I don't know if I'm right in my assumption. All I know is that the shadow cabinet you linked to is identical to the one named by Dion.

I hope I'm right because I want to see Rae play a prominent role and LeBlanc too.

Seeing Rae on Politics this evening, he certainly sounded as if he was in the loop and it would be odd to put him up as a spokesperson if he's being ignored, don't you think?

James Curran said...

Absolutely. There would be a riot if Bob's not in.

The Star article is scary. But, the caucus meetings finished today and it will be interesting to see what thoughts prevail after that.

Yes, very disappointing.
Dryden for the Environment? Well, the ice the is melting, right.?
Findlay and Trudeau seem like appropriate players.

And where is McCallum? Dryden for Environment? And, like others, where is Rae? I was leaning towards him for leader - now there isn't even a race. :(

James Curran said...

Actually, I think McGuinty would be appropriate for environment...then there's always a guy named Dion.

penlan said...

Sheesh, can't believe I forgot about Dion. *hanging head in shame*

You're right too, McGuinty. But I think he will do fine in any portfolio. Dion most likely too.

James Curran said...

Yes. David practiced environmental law.

James Curran said...

Oh. And Kirsty Duncan is a big environmentalist.

For the record, Rae was singing Ignatieff's praises yesterday. On the question of who Ignatieff has appointed, in terms of renewal and the team, Rae said he was impressed with Ignatieff, he has picked "the best and the brightest, from across the board". I believe Rae said he was "proud", so all this creation of some rift, or people sidelined, or whatever, is just fiction. I've seen Rae long enough to know when he's blowing smoke and when he's genuine, this interview not a hint of latent angst, quite pleased actually.

That said, I hope he get's DL.

"Iggy the Bloody"

My goodness, who's the real enemy here? I criticize too, but big picture time. Carry on, that's all you do...

Like Steve V just said. Have we forgotten who the real enemy is. Name is Harper the Hood.
