Prime Minister Ignatieff

Well there you go. Prime Minister Ignatieff.

So much for the grassroots having a say in the matter. Why'd we bother with selecting a leader in 2006? I mean the backroom boys knew all along who should be leader. Don't you know? How stupid of you grassroots Liberals to believe in a democratic party.

UPDATE: Coyne sums it up best.

Updaterer: Bob Rae the unifier. As I've said, he's the only one in the House that knows anything about coalition governments.

Disturbing (if true, I don't trust Ivison).

If true,

I look forward to Ignaitieff supporters calling for party unity.

Blues

Just did that for Dion about an hour ago ;)

We seem to be on warp speed, can't keep up.

James,

IF, IF this is true, then so be it!

Not my first choice, but a lot better than more Harper.

IF, IF this is true, then we should unite behind the new PM!

It will be tough for some.
It was not decided by the grassroots.
It may precipitate losing/winning more seats in the next election.

IF, IF this is true, accept it, live with it, and work with it!

IF, IF IT IS NOT TRUE...Prime Minister Stephane Dion puts a smile on my face and a happy feeling in my stomach.

I have already removed all Liberal references from this blog site and from my facebook groups.

Coyne's summery is why I have a hard time believing this Ivison tale.

Yes, Steve V, warp speed, I want my life back.

could it be simply more mis-information from a certain leadership candidate?

James, a bit hasty, no? Who the heck knows what is really going on?

Blues, this is the second coming of the Martinites.

Christopher said...

This doesn't sound right... first Iggy is against the coalition because it'll poison his chances now he's going to lead it? If the coalition turns bad it'll be even more poison for him if he leads it.

This doesn't pass the smell test. Reporters are throwing things against the wall to see what sticks to get more information out about the coalition.

Martinites...chretienites...bah...i liked both guys and voted for both. Really tired of the divided camp thing. If Bob Rae has agreed to step aside and we don't know that for sure yet....that is his choice. Likely he had good reasons for making that decision. He is a smart man.

The two articles contradict each other. I think it is best to wait until tomorrow to hear it from Rae and Iggy directly. The NP is a Con mouth piece.

James, You've become UNHINGED!! Your hatred of Ignatieff is incredible. I know where to come when I want to give myself a dose of the downsies.

James Curran said...

Go away. You're depressing me. I don't hate Michael you bird. It's his fucking supporters that continue to blindside him.

Iggy is perfect for this 'Coalition of Canada'.

Iggy is a
New Canadian,
new politician,
leading a party that was born on Oct 17, 2008 (Mulcair and Ducey, first meeting)

I feel your pain James, but it could be worse.
You could be a Conservative living in Alberta like me.
Read the Clarity Act lately?

Wilson,

Your man is in danger of being a spent force and now you are championing war hawk Iggy as PM. Wanting to switch sides just in case Stockwell Day and John Baird becomes Harper's successor?

Dion has offered to stay until May, no more, no less.

James,

Sorbara wrote an op-ed in the Star. He is perfectly comfortable having Dion stay until May. If Rae is sounding conciliatory, then a big plus to him.

BTW, I haven't endorsed anybody on the Grit side. But the actions of this week will play greatly in my plans.

Your anti- iggnatieff binge is not only wrong, mis-directed, and really distorts what is really happening behind the scenes i.e. neither you nor I not what the heck is going on...you run on stories written by ivison or another columnist but you have no idea where they have gottent their facts / information...you blame iggy for everything ..you blame him for global warming, the one million liberal supporters that did not show up, the lose of seats in the last election for the liberals.....

i have to concur with others...you have officially lost it...and the fun thing is ...we have the conservatives on the ropes, running down the hill and the only thing you do is attack iggy...

ARE YOU SOMEONE'S MESSANGER BOY ??

We need to be cautious here. How do we know if it isn't the Cons bending the medias ears, lying as usual & trying to sow their usual divide & conquer seeds. Division is what can undo a strong Party & it's supporters as we all know. Now is not the time to believe everything we are reading in the press because once again all supposed sources are "anonymous" & as I said could be the Cons masquearading as Libs.

Well, perhaps we should wait. From the horses mouth himself, Bob Rae, this morning on Canada AM. They, being he, Ignatieff and LeBlanc, had a very nice chicken dinner. Rae said so many rumours, stuff from surrogates, etc. and it's all false. He said they all agreed that they want to see the details, etc.

There you go - from Bob Rae in an interview this morning.

My problem is not Dion, Rae, Ignatieff or LeBlance - my problem is Layton.

Seems to me he's ready to do this stuff at a drop of a hat and I have to wonder if this is a plan for Layton's own personal gain.

And, what did the Liberals give in to?

James Curran said...

Francesco,

You are now not only a koolaid drinker with blinderson, you are also a liar. I could have sworn that you stated yeserday you will be posting here no more?

Anyway, to each his own. You can continue your tirade here if you like.

Sandi, it's difficult to say what the deal might be with the NDP. We have a lot of common groud with which to work though. Perhaps it's time for Canada to grow up and have such a government if not just to end this bipartisan craziness in the House of Commons.

Francesco said...

james are you calling me a liar..and yes i did state yesterday that i would no longer post on your site...but i am having to much fun!!!

also you are just being so anti-iggy that people need to understand that you have you are biased and so openly biased that you grab every single piece of string that is dangled without seeing if it is factual, whether it is objective...you are doing somone's dirty work :-))

also saw mr rae this morning doing an his morning chat with the media...it seems he sank your theory from ivison's piece...

also james you don't further your cause by calling people liars....

i think you have watched to much Bill O'Reilly and Fox TV....you are really perfecting your technique in support of your cause...will you then call people anti-canadian when they disagree with you??

Regards,
Francesco

James Curran said...

Dear Francesco,

Go FYHat. Now you are no longer welcome. You have confused me with Igantieff operatives who undermine the entire party.

Once again, I like Mike. It's people like you that ruin his chances every time. Partisan blond assholes that burn bridges faster than they could ever even start to build them.

This is your last post here. I won't be putting up with your bullshit anymore.

RuralSandi said...

Well, for what it's worth and whatever comes of it - it sure has shown anxiety and backstabbing in the Conserv Party with movements to draft Prentice and Baird - I wonder if the media are going to bother discussing that like their constant blah, blah about the Liberals.

On another note - apparently, Bill Casey, former CPC kicked out and now independant - is willing to vote non-confidence.

Looks like Harper's meanness is coming back to bite him on the ass.

penlan said...

Francesco,

Everyone is entitled to their views. You have yours do you not? And not everyone is always in agreement on everything, including you. You have no problem stating your thoughts & pov. So let others have theirs without going personal & tearing them down. And pay attention to what people are actually saying - it appears you are not catching some things.

Grow up.

penlan said...

Sandi - That's great news on Casey! Thanks for the info!

Greg said...

James, I have no dog in this hunt, but I would say that your reaction is just what Ivison was hoping for. This is a rumor, that was debunked today by Bob Rae.

Jeff said...

So now, in addition to Michael's on the record support for Stephane, we have Bob as well on the record saying these Ivison rumours are false.

Perhaps, James, you could take the word of Michael Ignatiefff AND Bob Rae over unnamed sources in a Conservative-leaning paper clearly planted by the CPC War Room to sow disunity in Liberal ranks?

Leny Vilekoskytch said...

I'm just guessing here, but given that everyone seems on board with Dion as the leader of the coalition, this post is about your preferred alternative following the end of the leadership race?

Jamie Callingham said...

Jim, are you ready to eat crowe? Prime Minister Dion has a nice ring to it.

James Curran said...

WTF are u talking about? Dion is my leader!

You don't remember my recent trip to Stornoway dude? You know, the one where I told Stephane to stay on as leader and that WE were prepared to defend him? I seem to remember you were at a get together that night.

Jamie Callingham said...

I mean about Ignatieff. PM Ignatieff won't be till later.

James Curran said...

Won't be at all. Like as in ever.
