With all due respect Mr. Vople. Don't try speaking for all Liberals. Frankly, not many will listen to your advice. Refresh my memory. Didn't you help kick Chretien out with the rest of the "Martinis". Are there any leaders you like Joe?
This is the same guy who ran a leadership campaign that was bombarded with kiddie donations and dead supporters, not to mention the endorsement of the then-Liberal, the loathsome Wajid Khan (who by the way, was defeated on Tuesday, thank God)
If this bozo thinks he's a leadership contender this time, he's living in a fantasy land.
Liberal reactions to this demonstrate why only anonymous liberals will talk to the media. Aside from that, Volpe is right. Dion should decide quickly for the good of the party.
a coulple things. Last time I checked, Dion more than doubled Jack Layton in seat count. This, after being bombarded for 2.5 years by negative ads. What's Jack's excuse?
Second, until you join the Liberal Party of Canada dear Robert, your opinion on the matter means Jack.
Funny thing, I don't think the Liblogosphere is an accurate representative sample of the Liberal Party. There is just no concievable way Dion would survive a leadership review. So why the pretence?
I think Joe Volpe is a sleazebag, but at least he has the nads to call for Dion's head publicly unlike all the anonymous cowards trying to knife Dion from the dark.
But hey, reading the Liblogs you'd almost think you guys won the election or something, rather than having the worst result since Confederation in terms of popular vote.
Until the LPC takes a chill pill and has a serious period of introspection, rather than spending all its energy being angry at Stephen Harper, Harper is just going to keep consolidating his gains. Did you know there's only 6 Liberal seats left in Ontario outside the GTA? I mean, doesn't that worry any Liberals? And do you really think your'e going to win them back by burst veins over Stephen Harper? Because that worked so well this time around.
I don't have a leader, James. Unlike you and the other angry liberals I've encountered over the past couple of weeks, I don't have a membership in any party.
As for the advice, well if liberals want to go back to howling about anonymous liberals knifing Dion in the back go ahead. If liberals want Dion to dither for weeks or months while the media speculates wildly go ahead and have it that way.
Sorry James but we know that the writing is on the wall. Fine give him a few days, but he does need to give us a decision soon. I am not a Volpe fan, but he speaks the truth. The Libloggers might be doing right by Dion, but they are offside with the rest of the party. A new leader is not a cure all, but it is a necessary start. I admire Dion, but its time to correct a mistake and its time to rebuild. We all stood by Dion this election and I did more than my part, but this is my party and I have the right to say that it is time for Dion to resign.
Everyone IN the party has a right to voice their opinion. That's why we have leadership races. We had one in 2006. Some people just can't get over themselves. Every other leader in this party had more than one kick of the can and Stephane Dion - a man of conviction, a man who stood up to separatists, a man portrayed by the Conservatives and CTV as a dummy for over 2.5 years, when he has a PhD - certainly demands that respect. He beat Rae, Ignatieff, Volpe, Kennedy, Dryden, Hall-Findlay, Brison, Bevilacqua, Bennett, Fry. And, some of them should get over themselves really.
I see Robert. No leader? So you just can't stand Liberals then. Ok. Whatever.
As for you ALW, our job is to burst veins over Stephen Harper. He's a copycat, vindictive, cruel leader. Canadians will find that out soon enough though.
The deficit financing Flaherty is running, the Cadman tapes and the In and Out Scandal will all come to light very shortly. And then we shall see what Canadians have to say about Mr. Harper.
Pro-Harper's media (Globe and Mail, National Post, etc) are all over Dion comparing him to black knight of spamalot and other insults. Harper's main mission is to keep Liberal in disarray aided by the corrupt media. These "Seniors" Liberal need to retire and let the new and less traditional politicos take over. They are tired and old politicians and Canadians are tired of their gutter politics. They are no different from Harper.

Joe Volpe needs to shut the hell up

Volpe's a disgrace, he should resign! And, take all those dead Liberals with you.
Oh, and CTV calls him a "senior" Liberal, more like a pariah that everyone wishes would JUST GO AWAY.

Gotcha. James Curran only listens to the echo chamber. I'll take note of that for future reference.
By the way, some of you liberals really need to work on your anger issues.
Exactly, now you get it. We Liberals.
Would you be listening to my advice on your leader? Highly unlikely wouldn't you say.
I'm not angry with you. I'm simply saying your opinion counts for nothing on the subject at hand.

There was a great episode of "The Sopranos" titled "with all due respect."
When someone says, "Hey, Tony, with all due respect," you know the next thing they're gunna say is gunna piss you off, if you know what I'm sayin'.

Amen Wanderer. Amen.
