So Mary Clancy has the inside track in winning this seat back for the Grits, I presume?
Is she the lawyer that fought the last nomination?
No, she was the former MP for Halifax from 1988-1997. Lost to Alexa in 1997. Chretien appointed her to the Consulate General's office in Boston, where she stayed until 2004.
Mary is now the Liberal riding President for Halifax. A Martinite through and through, she supported Ignatieff at leadership. This is why I think she will throw her hat in.
