Another Colour Barrier Broken

In what is one of the few sports left in the world that had yet to crown a black champion, Formula 1 welcomed its first non-Caucasian to win a race. It happened -as I predicted this morning- in sunny Montreal. Where else would it!!!

Lewis Hamilton made many a first today in Montreal. He is the youngest man to win the Canadian Grand Prix. He was the first rookie to take the pole for the Canadian Grand Prix. He is the first rookie to reach the podium in all of his first six starts. Just to name a few.

Much like his young teammate, Fernando Alonso, this young man has a bright future in Formula 1, which many thought would lose its glamour after the retirement of Michael Schumacher this year.

Young Lewis now leads the points standings for the world championship with 11 races to go. Not bad for a 22 year old.
